China has a significant edge over world in science and technology innovation, said Chinese Science and Technology Minister Wan Gang on Saturday.

The minister illustrated a series of major innovations achieved in the past five years, including the manned submersible Jiaolong, the world's largest filled-aperture radio telescope FAST, the dark matter detection satellite "Wukong", quantum entanglement research, and the successful cloning of two monkeys.

The scale of the technology market in China has jumped to 1.3 trillion yuan (US$210 billion), as significant progress has been made in commercializing science and technology achievements over the past five years.

Wan Gang, Minister of Technology, said the next step is to effectively combine technology with finance, so as to provide entrepreneurs with all-round and various financial services.
