Chinese president's special envoy to attend Chilean presidential inauguration

BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy Ma Peihua, also vice chairman of the 12th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, will attend the presidential inauguration ceremony in Chile from March 10 to 11, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang announced Friday.
Ma is visiting at the invitation of Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, said Geng.
Sebastian Pinera, right-wing candidate and former president, was elected president of Chile for a second time last December.
