Nepal will benefit from China's continuing development and the South Asian nation is ready to enhance cooperation with the world's second largest economy, said the Nepali ambassador to Beijing on Monday.

Ambassador Leela Mani Paudyal said this year's two sessions are very important because these are the first such meetings after the 19th National Congress of Communist Party of China.

"This year's meeting will develop more programs, pass some laws, provide guidance to the government and form a new team for driving that cause. China's development is very important for Nepal, because China is one of the largest developmental assistances we have been receiving. China is the second largest (source) in terms of tourists visiting Nepal, and No. 1 foreign direct investment we have been receiving," he said.

The ambassador said China's stability and prosperity are of paramount importance for global prosperity and stability.

Connectivity is a major concern in Nepal, he said. "Because of lack of connectivity, we want more connectivity, including railways, roadways, telecommunication and people-to-people contact," he said. "We want to create a harmonious society through the Himalayas. We want to go together and have sustainable development across the region."

He said he hopes the policies that are developed and designed will further strengthen the Chinese economy. "Through that, we want more cooperation, collaboration and support, to a country like Nepal," he added.
