On the theme of “Welcome 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics”, 2,022 hikers gathered at the World Grape Expo Garden Sunday to participate in a 7-kilometer-long walking event within the scenic area in Yanqing district, Beijing, Feb 4, 2018.

This year marks the third time that the Beijing Walking Association has held the Yanqing Haituo Ice and Snow Hiking Conference, with an aim to encouraging the general public to become involved in winter sports and get a better understanding of the upcoming Winter Games.

According to the the walking association, the event is just the beginning of the Beijing Walking Association’s series on the event's theme, "Footprint of the New Era”. In the future, the association will hold more similar activities to make people feel the charisma of walking and hiking.
