London, the city to host the most Olympics

London has saved the Olympic Games twice at historic moments. In 1908, Rome gave up hosting the 1908 Summer Olympics because of a volcanic eruption and London stepped in to host. In 1948, with the world still recovering from World War II, London hosted a grand sporting event, which was also the first international event after the war. The city will now host its 3rd Games, giving it another historic achievement as the city to host the most Olympics.
